In celebration of the launch of this year’s Paradise Pack, we decided to put together this 777 series. Now, you are probably wondering ‘What’s with the 7’s?’ well this is our 7 most memorable experiences in our 7 years of location independence over the next 7 days.
Today is all about our first trip after becoming location independent! This experience taught us a lot of what NOT to do and a little of what worked well so hit play and enjoy (but please don’t make these same mistakes on your next trip).
You learn about yourself, about the world, and about your partner in potentially illegal border crossings.
For the past five years Heather and I have been location independent, and for a while, completely nomadic and we’ve had quite a few mishaps along the way.
We managed to narrow the list down to 32 lessons to share, though we could probably think of hundreds! Really, you should have seen the initial list.
After a birthday trip to Chile, Suzanne and Mitch Rutledge realized that long term travel might be something they could ACTUALLY do! They got back home and started planning;
What would they do with their house?
How would their son’s school take the news that they were taking an extended trip abroad?
Where were they going to go?!
As they began preparing for their trip things began falling into place, and here they are, on the other end, talking about their experiences as seasoned world travelers!
Suzanne, Mitch, and Luke (the youngest person to ever be on the podcast) join me today to chat about getting out the door and deep into a 9-month adventure around the world, along with some of the best tips that they learned along the way.
Nick and I have been a lot of places over the past however many years.
But somehow I’m pretty sure Nick’s country count keeps beating mine!
Today we discuss our favorite cities around the world. We get through #10 – #5 for both of us today, complete with a ton of honorable mentions (you did know that was gonna happen right?) and a list of places that would NEVER make it onto our Top 10 lists.
Are these the best cities in the world?
I reserve the right to change my mind!
What are your top 10 cities, and which one are you going back to first?
Today Heather and I return to finish off our list of the 20 most beautiful buildings in the world (that we’ve seen, of course).
We return to some of our mentions in Part 1 as they make the list a second time and devote more time to discussing the beauty of each of these amazing locations.
There’s no end to the wanderlust inspired by today’s episode (even for us!) so be sure to listen to start dreaming of all the beautiful locations you’ll be visiting soon!
