Traveling is just as much about eating as it is about anything else! It’s one of the great ways to experience a different culture.
And we had some great experiences in 2016.
Today Heather joins me as we go over our top 22 meals in 2016, leaving our favorite drinks and desserts for another “mini” episode next week! From the cliffs of Santorini to a couple of places close to home there’s something on here for everyone.
Make sure to follow us on social media to be part of the #EPoPScavengerHunt, where we’ll be purchasing drinks for our listeners at random places all around the world!
Every year we spend (a little too much) time searching through our emails to find out where we were every night that year. Figuring out how many miles we traveled, how many miles we flew, how many beds we slept in, and of course how many countries and states we visited.
Even though that takes us hours of work, it only takes up about 10 minutes of audio. Not quite fair! So we pair it with something else. Our superlatives.
What were the best hotels, the worst hotels? What was the craziest thing we did this year? The most underwhelming? The most surprising?
Listen to today’s episode to find out!
There will be two more 2016 in Review episodes coming over the next couple of weeks, our best food & drinks as well as our best experiences, so stay tuned!

When I returned from Israel, I released a podcast with Puzzle Israel founders Nir and Guy that talked a bit about the tour that I went on.
But we didn’t really get into the activities that we did, and the experiences that we had that were so impactful.
So we’ve decided to release another podcast today with listener favorite, Napkins, joining me to flip the script and ask ME some questions about my trip to Israel.
We discuss everything from the theoretical to the actual. My knowledge before going to Israel (nothing. I didn’t even know there was a desert!) to how much I’ve learned since visiting, some of the amazing experiences that I had along the way, and how breaking my phone made all the difference.
Israel is a fascinating country, and I highly recommend a visit, hopefully, after this talk you’ll be pumped and ready to add it to your (ever-growing) travel list!
Recently I had the good fortune to be able to travel to Israel with two amazing dudes, Nir and Guy.
As local Israelis, they had the idea to bring people to Israel and show them around…as locals.
Add to that the promise of delicious foods (they both have culinary backgrounds) and I was hooked.
Since I’m always trying to experience places more authentically this seemed like the perfect type of tour for me, so I gave it a go.
And it BLEW ME AWAY.
I ate delicious food, made a bunch of friends, and was able to understand this complicated and thrilling country through the eyes of locals.
Nir and Guy have done something awesome by creating a boutique travel company that is going to turn the tour industry on its head, and today, they reveal how it all started (with a dream…and some beer), where it’s going, and why they are doing something no one else in Israel is attempting to do.
And don’t forget…for a special discount and a VIP experience, check out Puzzle Israel and mention that Trav from Extra Pack of Peanuts sent you!
