Today Sherry joins me again for Part 2 of our 2 part interview.
We chat about the founding of Meet, Plan, Go and the resources available there (and how to meet other people trying to do the same thing!)
In addition, we have a length discussion about the importance of having a home base, and how not even we are immune to some of the crazy brainwaves that inhibit us from making the big decisions!
To cap it all off we bring it back to the Gin with a travel mishap story that throws us back to the dangers of a correctly made gin & tonic!
Her career break turned into a life based around travel and expertise in how to take career breaks successfully in the United States.
Lots of advice out there on career breaks come from Australia, or the UK, where things like this are very common. But here in the USA, it’s not such an easy task.
Unless of course, Sherry’s helping you out!
Today we discuss how Sherry got the bug for travel, how her planned one year turned into 9, and about the correct way to make a gin & tonic. Apparently it’s a very specific process!
This is part 1 of a two-part interview. Check back on Thursday for the rest of our interview where we go more in-depth on the strategies of taking a career break and a great travel mishap!
In Part 1 Jacob talked a lot about how to make sustainable change.
Today we’re gonna chat more about change, and how it’s influenced GREATLY by your mindset.
We’ll also chat about how money is a socially acceptable excuse for deeper fears, and how both Jacob and I are establishing home bases that are allowing us to evolve our businesses to the next level.
Jacob has a ton of great advice and insights on business & life, so be sure to listen close.
Let us know in the comments what the ONE BIG THING you took away from this interview was. Through all of this at least one thing had to spark an idea, let us know what it is and how you’re going to change your relationships or environment to make it a sustainable change!
A year ago we had on Jacob Sokol of Sensophy.com on the podcast to talk about the transformative power of travel.
So, whatever happened to that dude?
Enter, the “Where are they now?” series!
Jacob is BACK and man do we have a lot to talk about! Seems like a year isn’t that long, but Jacob has been up to quite a lot.
We chat about quite a lot in this episode, including the reason I wear V-neck shirts (who cares that I’m 8 years late to the trend?), the power of mentors, how to make sustainable change from our ah-ha moments, and why you should never make decisions when you’re in a bad mood.
Jacob has been a friend and mentor to me for many years, and having him on always leads to some of my own discoveries as well! I have quite a one in Part 2 of this interview!
Come back on Thursday to hear more about how to grow from your experiences, fixed vs. growth mindsets, showing up authentically, and how both Jacob and I are creating home bases for our businesses and evolving our location independent lifestyles.
This is Part 1 of a 2 part interview. Check back on Thursday for Part 2!
On Tuesday Jim gave us the basics of what Home Exchange.com is, and how it works. Today he’s back to discuss the process from beginning to end and how personal connections are one of the best things that come out of that process!
Including an awesome feature on HomeExchange.com that allows you to search by passion.
Like Skiing? Just pick that, and you’ll see all the home exchanges that will allow you to do that.
We finish up with one of the most “Rockin” travel mishaps we’ve had so far!
If you’re a fan of the podcast, you should know by now that I LOVE housesitting.
But there’s another, really awesome option out there!
Home Exchange!
If you have a house, there’s someone out there willing to switch with you for a while.
So to learn more about it, I’ve brought on none other than the PRESIDENT of HomeExchange.com himself!
Jim Pickell
In Part 1 of this interview, Jim discusses how you make travel a core value in your life, how home exchanges work and allow you to travel like a local.
We’ll also start discussing some of what’s available through the HomeExchange.com website!
