Heather and I discuss why we have (almost) no plans for our upcoming road trip, how you can help pick where we go and what we do, what our essential items are, and why this is getting back to our travel roots.
We really want your suggestions! Know a brewery we should stop at? Places we should eat? Places we should hike? Are you nearby?
When I returned from Israel, I released a podcast with Puzzle Israel founders Nir and Guy that talked a bit about the tour that I went on.
But we didn’t really get into the activities that we did, and the experiences that we had that were so impactful.
So we’ve decided to release another podcast today with listener favorite, Napkins, joining me to flip the script and ask ME some questions about my trip to Israel.
We discuss everything from the theoretical to the actual. My knowledge before going to Israel (nothing. I didn’t even know there was a desert!) to how much I’ve learned since visiting, some of the amazing experiences that I had along the way, and how breaking my phone made all the difference.
Israel is a fascinating country, and I highly recommend a visit, hopefully, after this talk you’ll be pumped and ready to add it to your (ever-growing) travel list!
A lot of people bicycle ACROSS America. But that’s not what we’re talking about today.
You see Brian D’Aspice has done something a little different.
He’s bicycled AROUND America.
And the difference is about 9 THOUSAND miles!
Brian joins me today to chat about his trip, which he planned 90% of it in the first 30 minutes of having the idea! (the rest of the planning took over a year!)
He discusses his experiences raising money for charity, the amount he’s spent per day on accommodation (it’s impressive, even to me), and then we proceed to nerd out about all the stats he’s kept on his trip!
We’re releasing this as he is on his journey, so if you’re listening in real-time, make sure to see if you can’t meet up with him and ride a bit of his final routes!
Recently I had the good fortune to be able to travel to Israel with two amazing dudes, Nir and Guy.
As local Israelis, they had the idea to bring people to Israel and show them around…as locals.
Add to that the promise of delicious foods (they both have culinary backgrounds) and I was hooked.
Since I’m always trying to experience places more authentically this seemed like the perfect type of tour for me, so I gave it a go.
And it BLEW ME AWAY.
I ate delicious food, made a bunch of friends, and was able to understand this complicated and thrilling country through the eyes of locals.
Nir and Guy have done something awesome by creating a boutique travel company that is going to turn the tour industry on its head, and today, they reveal how it all started (with a dream…and some beer), where it’s going, and why they are doing something no one else in Israel is attempting to do.
And don’t forget…for a special discount and a VIP experience, check out Puzzle Israel and mention that Trav from Extra Pack of Peanuts sent you!
We don’t know our own rules. And I’m ridiculously easy to convince.
So basically, this list is always changing, and you have the power to change it! Tweet me at @PackOfPeanuts and let me know why I should change my list, and what to!
Heather and I embark on the impossible, to nail down our top 5 destinations each. Some of them we’ll be visiting this year, others are still in the works. We know we’ll get everywhere eventually, but by then we’ll have a whole new list that’s probably longer than this one!
Travel is definitely addicting!
