About the Show
Creating Insatiable Wanderlust Since 2013
Every Tuesday Trav and Heather fill your heart with wanderlust and your head with knowledge.
Sometimes we’ll interview amazing travelers, like the guy who went around France on a little red scooter or the guy who spent 5 years going to every country in Africa (and climbing the tallest peak in each). Sometimes we’ll give you practical advice, like our 47 best gifts for travelers or 21 ways to survive a long haul flight. Sometimes we’ll drop some lists on ya (we love lists!) like our top 10 ice cream in the world or our top 25 breweries. And sometimes we’ll tell you all the best things to do at a specific destination, like the best seafood in Croatia or where to eat pizza in Rome.
But we’ll always have fun, always get (probably too) excited, and always say the word boutique wrong.
Joining me today is someone who met her husband at a music festival (although the bag of wine means she doesn’t remember it that well), who has lived in China, Indonesia, and Mexico, and who is always one of my favorite people to talk to, Rachel Story from GratefulGypsies.com.
Joining me today is the winner of the 1989 Human Race, where he traveled 40,000 miles in 17 days, someone who was named “The World’s Greatest Traveler” by National Geographic Traveler in 2002, and who is the founder and Ringmaster of The Global Scavenger Hunt, Bill Chalmers from GlobalScavengerHunt.com
Joining me today is someone who has been traveling and working from the road for over 2900 days and who has visited 573 cities and 73 countries, Mike Swigunski from GlobalCareerBook.com.
Each year there are always a handful of days that stand out. Some of those perfect travel days that you couldn’t have planned in a million years, but that really stick with you, months later. Today, Heather and I go through our top 10 experiences of 2019 spanning the globe from the Good Ole USA to Canada to the warmth of sunny Florida and Gorgeous Croatia.
Today Heather and I go through our top 8 desserts (16 total + 1 honorable mention) from 2019, from hometown to widely available to cities around the world, if it’s delicious, it’s on the list!
2019 was a great year for beer! Listen to hear our best beer experiences of 2019 and since Heather was pregnant for most of the year, Trav had to really step up and carry the “burden” of beer drinking for 2019. You can only imagine how distraught this made him (queue sarcasm).
We’ve decided to split up…coffee and wine into their own episodes. So this year in review will be an 8 part series instead of the normal 7. Join us today as Heather shares her top 9 coffee spots from around the world of 2019.
It is the bonus episode all about wine! Instead of grouping coffee and wine together, Heather thought it deserved its own episode and she was right (like normal). Join us today as Heather shares her top 6 wines from around the world in 2019.
Today Heather and I are going to go through our top 12 meals of the year (each) for a total of 24 awesome places around the world that you should definitely check out if you’re going to be in the neighborhood!
In this episode, we cover the nerdy statistics of 2019. We’ll figure out about how many miles we traveled, how many different places we slept in, and how many new countries we visited plus much, much more!
