Part 1
As you may have heard from our recent Solo Travel Challenge posts, I spend 3 days in Chicago.
And I loved it!
Listener and superfan Kevin took the time to show me around the city and I ate as much as humanly possible. In the name of research of course!
Today Kevin joins me on the podcast to share his love and knowledge of the Chicago food scene, drink scene, and to express some thoughts on why Chicago is actually BETTER than New York City! And, of course, to present us with some fun facts!

Glad you had an amazing 3 day-stay here in Chicago. Love the compilation of your activities, nice diary. :)
Catching up on some of your episodes. I was just in Chicago in May for 3 days and had a fab time. I encourage anyone to try an Airbnb out in the neighborhoods. I stayed in a basement apartment in Bucktown; it worked great for me! I was a few blocks off the Blue Line, which took me everywhere I wanted to go in downtown and then took me out to O’Hare when I had to leave (sad face).
As a side note, in terms of repeat visits, I agree that Chicago is more desirable than NYC. Don’t get me wrong – I love NYC! However, Chicago seemed more friendly, more accessible, and much easier to navigate. Love Chi!
if only i there was an app to add all of your recommendations to my yelp and google maps. great show, heading to chicago in two weeks! woo hoo
Nevermind, I found the link at the bottom. My bad!
Hey Trav, when I clicked the link for Part 2 it keeps bringing me back to the Part 1 page.
I’m sorry I always comment with things like this. I promise I enjoy your podcasts a lot and have a million positive thoughts about them (which is why I’ve almost listened to every single one!) But I love them so much that I need the 2nd part :p
