The best Mexican food I’ve ever had was in … Austria. Yup. Austria. No one spoke English. People were smoking in the restaurant. The food was amazing.
@Vera Shaw- Wow, really? Do you remember the name of the place? That’s somewhere I’d love to try to find.
Loved this episode! A great mix of food abroad and local suggestions (I live in NW Philly). Can’t wait to start trying some of these places!
@Meg Jones- Glad you liked it…lots of local flavor for you to try, as well as some places that you’ll have to travel far for!
I loved this episode! I think I could listen to you guys talk about food all day.
I know you mostly travel internationally, but if you’re ever in the Bay Area you need to check out these two places: Sala Thai in Fremont has by far the best Thai food that I’ve ever had. It’s amazing and has lunch specials under $10. Also Patisserie Bechler in Pacific Grove an hour south is so, so good. The owner is French and their macarons (Blueberry! Pistachio! Salted caramel!) are spectacular.
@Joy- Will do! I love the Bay Area, so now we have another reason to come back. Thanks for the recs.
Oh i just came back from berlin 2 weeks ago and I had to go twice to dada
But i tell you although the falefel was good , it just dows not compare to the one in lebanon
If you like to travel for food you should definately travel to lebanon
If you really consider that tell me and i will definately tag along in that trip
@George- Dada? Which one is that? We went to Babel and loved it. And yeah, we will have to get to Lebanon at some point to get some good falafel.
Awesome podcast! It made me think back to my favorites as well…

@Brady- Some great recommendations. Pretty cool that you also love Al’Antico. Wish I had seen the MBK Food Court recommendation two days earlier – I was just in Bangkok. Now I’ve got some great places to go visit!
Yeah, can’t beat the Al’Antico experience with the awesome sandwiches and the self-service wine.
Would have recommended the MBK Food Court sooner, but didn’t think about it until I started really thinking about my favorites after listening to the podcast. I’m sure you’ll be back in Thailand in no time though so you can check it out then…
@Brady Kestner- You’re right about that…we’ll be back in no time!
